FALLS CHURCH, Va., December 18, 2020 — Innovation Health, a joint venture between Inova Health System and Aetna, a CVS Health company, announced today that its commercial members will be receiving mask packages to help support them through the pandemic. These mask packages will help provide necessary protection and valuable information to Innovation Health’s members throughout the D.C. metro area.
“This past year has been challenging for our community, and we aren’t out of the woods yet—COVID-19 cases in Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia have continued to increase as we’ve neared the end of 2020,” said Dr. Sunil Budhrani, Innovation Health’s CEO and Chief Medical Officer. “Amidst these unprecedented circumstances, we wanted to support our members the best we can. These mask packages are one of the many ways we at Innovation Health are working to help our community.”
Thousands of Innovation Health members will receive their mask packages ahead of the holiday season. The packages will include reusable face masks and educational content on safety guidelines and best practices, adapted from current CDC guidance and expertise. In addition to the mask packages, Innovation Health members will have costs for COVID-19 testing waived* and a $0 copay for any COVID-19-related doctor visits.
“The impacts of this pandemic go beyond case numbers—months of social isolation, anxiety, and stress is taking its toll on our community,” said Sarah Grantham, Innovation Health’s Chief Operating Officer. “That’s why, in addition to all of our direct COVID-19 support, we’re offering free mental health services to our members. From now until January 31, 2021, our members will be entitled to $0 copays for covered in-network telemedicine visits for outpatient behavioral and mental health appointments.”
