New care package for Medicare Advantage members

Innovation Health announces new care package for Medicare Advantage members amidst COVID-19 pandemic

FALLS CHURCH, Va., October 1, 2020 — Innovation Health, a joint venture between Inova, and Aetna®, a CVS Health® company, announced they are mailing a Caring for You kit, filled with over-the-counter health items, to their Medicare Advantage members. 

“COVID-19 has presented unprecedented challenges, especially for the older population. As a result, many Medicare members are taking care of themselves at home, potentially with limited access to basic supplies to support their wellbeing,” said Sarah Grantham, chief operating officer at Innovation Health. “This kit is designed to serve as an extra helping hand to keep them safe and healthy during the COVID-19 public health emergency. Sending this kit of over-the-counter supplies, at no cost, was something we wanted to do to support our membership.”

The kit contains hand sanitizer, masks, a thermometer, preventive oral care necessities, such as floss, toothpaste and toothbrushes, and other care items such as cough drops, bandages and sunblock. These items are intended to help Innovation Health’s Medicare Advantage members stay well during the upcoming flu season and the COVID-19 pandemic. 

“As COVID-19 has spread throughout the country, we have seen many patients postpone care out of fear of infection. We saw an opportunity to help,” said Dr. Sunil Budhrani, Innovation Health’s chief executive officer and chief medical officer. “We wanted to remind our members — especially older individuals at higher risk — that we’re here for them, that they can rely on Innovation Health as a resource for COVID-19 and other health needs, and how important it is that they continue their respective health journeys, even while at home.”
